From here. Stories you can taste.
Back in 2016, our family made the move from the Pilbara, Western Australia to 278 acres of farmland on Kangaroo Island, South Australia.
We discovered that our new home on the Eleanor River was also home to an extraordinary diversity of plants and animals. This lead to an interest in native food plants that were already adapted to the Island’s conditions and could be grown with minimal intervention. Working with the Landscape Board nursery, we grew from seed and planted three varieties of Acacia. Our first wattleseed harvest came in the summer of 2023.
We’re excited to launch our first products in late 2026.
From here. For the table.
We believe that consciously choosing locally grown and thoughtfully crafted foods can strengthen the relationship between people, place and plate.
We’re passionate about South Australian food production and the community of people who grow, process and share our local foods.
Our dream is to create a modern larder of premium, small-batch foods grown and crafted in South Australia — for food lovers and travellers seeking distinctive flavours, genuine provenance and a taste of place.
Respecting Country
We pay our respects to the Ngarrindjeri, Kaurna and Narungga people as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters on which we live, grow and work, and to their Elders past, present and emerging.
We recognise that Aboriginal people have cared for Country for thousands of generations, and that native foods are part of an ancient living culture, knowledge system and relationship with Country that continues today.
As a non-Aboriginal business working with native foods, we recognise the responsibility to engage with respect, reciprocity and integrity. We acknowledge the history of dispossession, the extraction and commercialisation of Aboriginal knowledge, and the ways in which Aboriginal people have too often been excluded from the economic benefits of the native food industry.
We are committed to supporting greater Aboriginal participation, ownership and economic benefit as this industry continues to grow.
